Alpine hikes, summit tours, panoramic tours? In the mountain village of Gries you have all the possibilities right on your doorstep. The village, which has been awarded the Austrian Hiking Quality Seal, is already a special feature in itself with its location at just under 1,600 meters. From here, even mountains beyond 3,000 m come within reach. From Apart Gries you can set off directly to numerous alpine huts such as the Nisslalm, Winnebachseehütte or Amberger Hütte - with air upwards. For example, a climb to the Gamskogl with a panoramic view over Längenfeld.
Gries and the surrounding area can also be explored on two wheels. Mountain bike tours up to the surrounding alpine huts or rather a few laps down in the valley to save energy? The wide valley floor of Längenfeld is ideal for this. Otherwise, there is the new Ötztal Cycle Trail, a 50 km long and valley-wide bike path - also or especially with the e-bike a great experience.
In Längenfeld there are 7 climbing gardens with a total of 200 routes of all difficulty levels. The Winnebachseehütte climbing garden is located above Gries and is reached after a 1.5-hour hike. The ascent is well worth it, because up there are 25 routes, pleasant temperatures and refreshments at the Winnebachseehütte. Down in the valley, there are over 100 more routes in the Oberried climbing garden. There is also a very special via ferrata at the Lehner waterfall, as well as the Reinhard Schiestl via ferrata up the Burgsteiner Wand.
Cooling down is guaranteed during your summer vacation in Längenfeld. The outdoor pool Längenfeld is located 6 km away from Apart Gries. The swimming pool with active and children's pool, water slide and large sunbathing lawn is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00 during the summer months. For even more swimming fun and a relaxing time-out, a visit to the AQUA DOME is recommended. The thermal spa in Längenfeld has 12 indoor and outdoor pools, children's area, water slides, numerous sunbathing areas and relaxation rooms as well as a huge sauna and wellness area.
The Ötztal is not only sporty, but also quite worth seeing and full of views and panoramas. For example, on the suspension bridge Längenfeld. People with a head for heights get a great view here between Burgstein and Brand. Combined with a short hike, this is the perfect excursion for the whole family. Likewise the Winklersee with water playground, which can be reached via the geological trail from Winklen. In Huben, there is a family-friendly themed trail with mystical stories from the Ötztal, the Sagenweg. Downstream in Umhausen, the Stuibenfall - Tyrol's highest waterfall - is located, a journey back in time to the Stone Age awaits in the Ötzi Village and animal entertainment in the Bird of Prey Park in Umhausen. And in Ötz there is a highlight for the whole family with the WIDIVERSUM.
